The format is such because I originally wrote this for my Good and Evil journal.

On my way back from the dining hall, I was walking through the Commons, when I came across a book lying on a bench. It was an old, nondescript book, with a greenish, grayish cover, sitting with its edges nearly parallel to the edges of the bench. It was as though someone had set it down this way to make it appear presentable. I sat down to examine it. It was a 1932 edition of Nine Plays by Eugene O’Neil, a very cool find, especially for someone who could use a monologue or two.
I also found a sticker on the inside cover, “Library of the Boston University General College”. I figured that, whether I take it or not, it wasn’t getting back to that library any sooner. Still, I wondered what had become of the book’s owner. What if they had their bag stolen, and they went off to chase the culprit, forgetting the book? It would be an addition of insult to injury to take the person’s book, as well. So I decided to go for a little walk to give theme some time to come back and reclaim it.
Sure enough, after a five minute stroll, I came back to find the book still sitting on the bench, with no one in sight who appeared to be its owner. It would be a shame to let such a book suffer the ravages of the weather, or fall into the hands of someone who wouldn’t take care of it as well as I was pretty sure I would. But I began to wonder if Montel was watching. I picked it up, walked over to a man sitting on a bench on the far side, and asked if the book belonged to him. It didn’t. On the way back to my dorm, I asked two people sitting on a bench if they left a copy of Nine Plays by Eugene O’Neil in the Commons. They didn’t. I arrived at my dorm with the book in hand, and dubbed it mine.
I still believe that it would’ve been worse of me to just leave the book there. It’s a good book in good condition, and it deserves to be taken care of. I’ll take my time finishing it, and when I’m done, I’ll return it to the library of the Boston University General College.

In other news, my roommate was just listening to "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas". I couldn't tell who was singing it, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Bing.
Wow, time is flying by. And I thank GOD for that.
Huh. Canon in D just came on.
