Dear Boston,

I just wanted to say Thank You. I know we've had our differences, and I have spoken ill of you in the past. That is what makes your recent show of kindness so bewildering. You've given me warm days. You've given me candy. You've shown me that I'm still capable of human connection. You've also given me the runs, but I don't mind that too terribly; the pipes needed a good cleaning anyway. I'm unworthy of such fine treatment, but I gladly and humbly accept it with overwhelming gratitude.

In writing this, I've realized that this recent good fortune is most likely the set-up for some sort of joke at my expense - I've accepted that this is how the wheel of fortune works. If such is the case, then I'll be ready for it with good humor.

XOXOXO,
Terry
