Summer Letdown: Goals for the next few months

I'm working six full weeks at a mind-numbing job. Hopefully in that time it won't be too hard to make enough money to pay for the credits I have to overload next semester. I failed that fucking class, so I gotta make up for it myself.

Not seeing my friends all year is apt to drive me crazy, so I want to buy a plane ticket to Chicago. I mentioned the idea to my dad. He told me it'd be pricey, but otherwise he did not discourage me - a good sign!

A new bicycle (?) for leisurely cruising around here and transportation in Boston. How the hell much do bikes cost nowendays? Is it worth the space it'll take up?

Read. Comics are perfectly legitimate, but a few REAL books would be nice, too. And plays - for a monologue that isn't totally irrelevant and dumb.

Exercise. I'll have to, now that my body has become dependent on my Alexander routine - I'll be stiff otherwise. Also, tone and definition. That means dumbbell flyes. OH, BOY.

Drive. I'm practically a man, and I need to be able to contend with other responsible adults on the open road. I need to familiarize myself with the parkway, the turnpike, and route 17. Ultimately, I should be able to drive to Jersey City and back.

My creative output has to starting matching my level of recreational input. I'll start by writing here more often. More than anything, I need to discover, articulate and justify my own likes and dislikes, my personal preferences toward form and function, style and substance, and concept and execution as they apply to aesthetics and storytelling. This will entail reviews and analyses of all the things I hope to take in this summer. I need to understand what constitutes a good story, and how to express the way I feel about stuff.

Also, I want to make a puppet out of a potato. Considering the nature of potatoes, it will probably have to be a rod puppet, though hopefully I will be able to engineer some articulation into its arms.

EDIT:
Oh, yeah. If I'm gonna have dinner parties at my pad in the South End, I gotta expand and refine my cooking repertoire. My roommates told me I look like the kind of person who would be good at cooking, so I'd like to meet their expectations.
